It's a full, rich, expressive rendition of one of the greatest quartets Shostakovich wrote. I recommend it highly. I just wish the program notes were more complete--it doesn't even give the names of the players, but only states that the members of the Tanjev Quartet were "usually the first chair players in the Leningrad Philharmonic." But the music is what counts and it's great."
