This is actually my first Sting CD, although I liked many of his (and Police's) songs the first time around. Most of these titles are familiar, but I have also learned to appreciate the "new" ones. An excellent exposure to Sting's music. Just needed for them to add "Fragile" to include my favorites.
Definitely worth a listen.

when i heard some of the cuts from this album several years ago, they had a certain magic but sad to say this one does not withstand the test of time cuts like "if you love someone, set them free" and the title track "fields of gold" are still beautiful and enduring but like a lot of artists who caught the attention of music lovers earlier on, sting had much better work before he settled into his journeyman career.
he has evolved since then. this is a good album for die hard fans
i think this i'll offer this up for someone else's collection

"Throughout all the different phases of Sting's career (with the Police and solo), I have to say this complilation is my favorite...something I
have listened to over and over and never get tired of."
