"Guitar virtuoso Steve Howe [Yes,Asia,GTR,ABWH] doesn't show intentions slowing down in his career. This year alone, he manage to put out 3 recordings, Asia's Omega, the new edition of his already famous demo recordings, Homebrew 4, and this live version of the Haunted Melody album. Here The Steve Howe Trio, who are integrated by Steve, his son Dylan on Drums, and Ross Stanley on Keys [Hammond], take their show on the road to indulge their fans with their "jazzy" sound. Steve, better know for the guitar work on the progressive premier rock bands Yes & Asia, show us a new and refreshing jazz sound, obviously powered by one of his mayor influences, guitar legend Kenny Burell. In this recording you could hear a version of the incredible master of jazz organ, Jimmy Smith's Blue Bash, and versions of Siberian Khatru & Close To The Edge, previously recorded with Yes. This two are the only ones with a rock sound, but also them, have a refreshing new twist. Kenny's Sound is an obvious tribute to Kenny Burell. Definitely a masterpiece, a must have...

"This disc is ok but Steve is not a a good choice in this setting. The organ player has a much better feel for the pace, the licks, the chord progressions and nailing the solos, which really surprised me. I was really excited when I spotted this recording, being a Yes fan for 30+ years but also listening extensively to Hammond B3 trios. This venture is not up to par with the likes of Tony Monaco, Jimmy Smith, Deep Blue Organ Trio, Larry Golding etc. If you want to hear old Yes songs in this format, it's mildly interesting. The straight ahead jazz is clumsy at best."
