His Best Best-Of!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album kicks all other SM compilations (including the ultra-popular standard issue "Greatest Hits 1974-1978") for several reasons:It includes ALL of the songs from the original GH7478 album. It includes the FULL version of "Abracadabra" with the cool instrumental part at the end, and not the chopped up single version, as was done on 1992's "The Very Best of the Steve Miller Band".It includes the familiar version of "The Joker" and not some lame remix, as was done on TVBOTSMB.Besides "Abracadabra", it includes five other post-'78 songs, including the lost single "Heart Like A Wheel" and his last semi-popular FM hit, "Wide River", from 1993.It does NOT include "Macho City" in ANY form. Complaints: It doesn't have notable 80's singles "Cool Magic" and "I Want To Make The World Turn Around". Small complaints, nonetheless. This is the best introduction to all things Steve Miller."
