CD ReviewsTheraputic magic that touches you beyond understanding 06/06/1998 (5 out of 5 stars) "For me, this music is truly theraputic, in a way I had never felt before. "First Love" seems to speak to my inner child in a dearly comforting way. I have often used this music to relieve stress; it has the ability to calm me in waves of beautiful, maternal reassurance. The music is disarmingly simple; indeed, if you distance yourself from the music and approach it as if it were a classical composition, it seems too simple. But looking at this music analytically is like performing a chemical analysis on a book of poetry; the magic of the music is deeper than the analytical mind can understand. Mr. Rhodes' music has truly enriched my life, and I am very thankful. I feel that in his music he has developed a means of expression and healing that reaches to a person at a subconscious level and communicates there directly. This was not my first exposure to New Age music (for example, I enjoy Andreas Vollenweider and Vangelis very much, and also enjoy the "space music" played by Stephen Hill on his radio program, "Music from the Hearts of Space"), but I have never had music speak to me so intimately. I would also highly recommend his "Music for Healing"." Irritating 02/26/2000 (1 out of 5 stars) "Sorry, I did not enjoy this particular CD. The music was unorganized and at times seemed out of key. There was no real flow to it. Very haphazard. I was hopeful it would get better as it continued, but as it turns out, I didn't listen till the end. I had enough." Stephen Rhodes has a way with music that touches the soul. This album is great for meditation. It will take you places."
