"The words are so neatly divided, song-by-song, into different aspects of a man's life. Each deals with a different person or aspect of Harris' life. Like my other favorite albums, there were just 2 or 3 songs that initially grabbed me a little bit but after awhile, the whole ensemble grew on me a lot. In that aspect I would compare this album to Wilco "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" and also the first Sufjan Stevens, "Greetings From Michigan". The entry points to this very personal, elegant work are "Broken Shoes" and "Velcro Madonna". "Oh Marie" is an absolutely beautiful vocal."
