"This is another fabulous CD from the great Stephen Bruton. Those of us fortunate enough to have heard this very talented deeply soulful musician live here in Austin always knew this man was a national treasure. In this day of music "product" Bruton's albums stands out as the real deal. Great song writing with deep introspective insightful lyrics, with a wry sense of humor.
With this album I think he already knew something was up. Although he made one more studio album after this (On The Five) he left us way too soon. Thankfully his music is reaching a larger audience with the soundtrack to the Oscar winning film "Crazy Heart".
There's not a bad cut on this CD. He was and remains one of my favorite guitar players ever. He simply did it all, and very well.
If you are a Stephen Bruton fan this will be one of your favorite of his albums, if you are not familiar with him you owe it to yourself to hear this beautiful CD. The last cut still gives me goosebumps."
