Hands Down, the Worst Steel Pulse Album

"Just a quick word of caution on this one - - every group at one time or another experiments with a new sound, and the 'Victims' album is that album for Steel Pulse. Continuing the electronic sound they'd worked with on 'State of Emergency,' the group went to the extreme on this disc, abandoning the great instrumental work they're known for in favor of a nearly all-keyboards approach. Results? Without question, the worst offering from this most righteous of reggae bands. The songs are, in a word, terrible, and not at all representative of the group's previous work. The keyboard sounds are cheezy and silly sounding, the arrangements don't work, and the group is no doubt embarrassed by the whole project. Do yourself a favor and skip this one."
