Synopsis

Product Description
Statik Selektah's long awaited first official studio album features a bona fide 'who's who' in Hip Hop from underground celebs like Termanology and Esoteric to legends like Kool G Rap, KRS-One, AG and Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest to the hottest of today's rising stars like Mims, Uncle Murda & Joell Ortiz. "Spell My Name Right (The Album)" has something for everyone... street anthems "G Shit (Showoff Mix)", underground bangers "Did What We Had To Do", straight battle raps "Time To Say Goodbye" and even the long forgotten DJ song "No Mistakes Allowed." East to left coast, ALL the big dogs show up for this one, with all production by Statik Selektah. Receiving support from DJs worldwide, Kay Slay, Funk Master Flex, Clinton Sparks and DJ Khaled to name a few, the first single "Hardcore (So You Wanna Be)" featuring Reks And Termanology backed with "No Holding Back" featuring Cormega and AZ has received critical acclaim and sold very well, even in this current trend of declining vinyl sales. With his name ringing bells and his stock climbing through the roof throughout 2006 and 2007, international DJ sensation Statik Selektah came hard, spear-heading albums from Termanology and Granite State, and classic official mixtapes with Nas, G-Unit, Royce Da 5'9" and AZ among others, the world is listening. Statik has recently been featured on MTV Mixtape Mondays (4 times), BET's Rap City, XXL Magazine, and The Source. Currently residing in New York City, catch Statik weekly on airwaves across America including Eminem's Shade 45 Sirius station, 93 WBLX in Mobile AL, KMJJ in Shreveport LA, WIZF in Cincinnati OH, and various mixshows weekly on radio stations across the world.

Excellent

"I have spinned this album over 20 times since it dropped and I can't remember the last time I listened to a new Hip-Hop album that many times, with that said the production is flawless from front to back, excellent featurings, scratches for days.

I'll say it like this, If you're down with REAL Hip-Hop then you're down with this, if you're not, then keep it moving."
Stop, Look, Listen!

"I bought this album based on it's features, and it was worth the money!

Like stated, the beats are well-polished. The Rhymes are on-point.

This album works, whether you're an underground head, or one of the more mainstream cats. I'm not a huge fan of some of a the features, but they're very tolerable on this album.

Fav. track: "Stop, Look, Listen".

Put this in the top 5 for best Hip Hop albums of 2007."
