"I love Bond music but I found this CD to contain the lowest level of enjoyment. There is a saxophone jazz solo in the Bond theme that was made up for this song. Instead of ending with the guitar strum it goes into another sax solo and fades out. Thunderball is played at twice it's normal speed. The singers are lousy. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is mot even the on the CD. Instead it's a song that doesn't appear on OHMSS under it's name. The only memorable song is Casino Royale which sounds exactly like the original. Not worth it."
Bond could use these CD's as skeet practice.

"Expecting a wonderful rendition of the great themes from the James Bond movies but by different artists, I instead ended up with woefully imitated (at times VERY imitated), badly sung rip-offs. Not all of the songs like Diamonds are Forever even have the singing! Some songs like Man With The Golden Gun and On Her Majestie's Secret Service don't even sound like their original incarnations! A bad or unpopular song like Golden Gun could have benefitted greatly from a redo! I got rid of this CD "collection" like a live grenade (I will not even comment on the atroctious rendition of Nobody Does it Better.) Stick with the original The Best Of Bond... James Bond 007 for supiorior music by the original artists. You need these CD's like you need Blofeld feeding you to some piranna's. It's awful."
"Best of the James Bond Themes"?...only the titles

"This by far the worst of the renditions of the Bond themes. First, all of the performers (I can't call them singers), sound worse than the worst (aka cheeziest) Las Vegas lounge act. And since I live in Vegas, you can believe me when I say this. Second, the orchestrations are horrific. Third, there are some songs that don't even exist in the movies! This waste of time and energy is good for one thing...a big LAUGH! If you get together with your fellow hardcore Bond fans and play this CD, get drunk and laugh for hours. This is a pathetic effort to cash in on Bond."
Its Has A Special Surprise!

"I am the first to admit that this is a flawed product. As a longtime collecter and fan of the "Bond Genre" I have heard a lot of Bond covers and most of these on this disc fall short. There are some redeeming aspects to most songs but the arrangement is questionable on many and the "mix" lacking in others. So.. the question is "Why the great rating?". Well.. simply put there are four tracks on disc two directly lifted from what I ( and many others.. judging from auction bids) consider one of the most dynamic cover albums of the early Bond days.It is "James Bond Thrillers" by The Zero Zero Seven Band released in 1965 by Somerset Music. I know of no other version of any of these songs on CD (other than custom jobs direct from album). Which songs? I won't say.. but beleive me.. when the guitar twang and the soaring blasts of the "smoky nightclub saxophone" wail out you will definitely notice the difference from what previous tracks had to offer. I paid less than ...well..I cant say... but I am smiling BIG."
