Standells - 'The Hot Ones / Try It' (Big Beat)

"You gotta love those Big Beat label releases, especially the 2-fer-1 titles where they squeeze two lp's onto one CD. This one is of the garage rockers, the one-hit wonders the Standell's two records - 'The Hot Ones' ('66) and 'Try It' ('67). Some great covers on here like the Monkees smash hit "Last Train To Clarksville", Donovan's "Sunshine Superman", the Fab Four's "Eleanor Rigby", the Stone's "Nineteenth Nervous Breakdown" and the classic (can't remember who originally did this song, but "Black Is Black". Plus, there are plenty of Standells originals to boot. Recommended."
