"So, I really wasn't expecting this, simply because I didn't know what "new wave" was.
I bought this album based purely upon "I Kill With My Car".
Wow...was I impressed. I love this stuff. It's like dance 80s music! It's great!
I cannot say that any songs on this album are bad. They all really rock.
I love "Child of the 80s", "I Kill With My Car" and "She's a Brainiac". All very 80s, (obviously) and dancy. The tunes are catchy and everything is very well done. Some of them are even slightly fun, like "I am Gothic" where describe gothic kids. It's amusing to me, since I used to be one awhile back.
Anyways, another breath of fresh air into my music collection! Thank you Amazon for those great reccommendations!!!"

"Let me start by saying an album like this comes along only once a decade or so. The lyrics, vocals, arrangements, production and most importantly, song writing, is absolutely stellar. It is astonishingly complete and I am at loss to find a flaw.I am 40 years old and have listened to thousands of pop/rock/dance albums and numerous singles. I like The Stone Roses, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails, Savage Garden, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Abba, Pink, Iris - it doesn't matter to me what the genre is as long as it is melodic and well done. I have a top 50 of all time favorites and I usually wait a couple of years before allowing a new comer in - just to make sure it holds up. This Spray cd went firmly in my top 50 after just a month in my cd player. That was a first. I have no doubts about its brilliance and I stake my reputation on it.Amazingly, after over 100 listenings, Living in Neon still is rewarding me with new discoveries. My usual spin cycle for pop music is about 3 spins before I become bored and move on. And unlike most of my cds, I leave it on all the way through. I won't go into a track by track analysis. I will leave future reviewers that pleasure. But if I had to choose a favorite track it would be "I Kill with My Car" - a Blondie meets Go-Go's tour-de-force of killer pop transitions. In closing, it has been said that when Prince finished Purple Rain he walked away knowing that he had created a brilliant album. I for one have no trouble believing that story. I can only imagine Spray must have the same after completing Living in Neon. It may a take a while as this cd is on a small indie label, but I'll wager it will go down in pop music history as a classic.Lithouse"

"What makes this CD special is that it shines in so many ways: It is energetic, consistent, varied, fun (and funny, in places), and polished. Merging the sounds and attitude of the 80s with modern beats and quality songcraft and production, LIVING IN NEON is a pleasure to listen to and should be a worldwide smash hit. The anthemic "I Am Gothic" and "I Kill With My Car" first got my attention, but I was quickly won over by the full array of songs. I can't wait to see what Spray comes up with next!"
A stunning Synthpop album - a classic in the making!

"I've listened to "Living in Neon" a few times now since it was first released and I really love it. This is synthpop at its quirky best. These guys must have had a great time recording the album and it really shows in the songs. The whole CD has a real party feel to it and it's sure to pack out the dancefloor with some strong dance grooves.Living in Neon is a real bargain too, with 13 very strong tracks and 4 bonus remixes that everyone is sure to love. The lyrics show what a sense of humour Jenny and Ricardo have and make a refreshing change to the mainstream pop acts that can't find anything more to talk about than how fickle love is. "So Close" is my personal favourite having heard it on a Ninthwave sampler many months ago and patiently waiting for the release of the album. "Fashion Stigmata" makes me think of the Beckhams, while "I kill with my car" is a real pop anthem but with lines like "hurling pensioners asunder, grinding pets and kids to dust" you just can't help having a chuckle. That's something that really stands out for me - Spray have produced a fantastic pop album and mixed in some unfailing (and intelligent) humour and I'm sure that "Living in Neon" will go on to reach more and more people all the time.Living in Neon pays tribute to the 80's with the track "Child of the 80's" and even captures some of the lost spirit from the decade, but adds a fresh twist to it and further proves, if there was still any doubt, that synthpop music is alive and well and going from strength to strength. Hats off to independent label Ninthwave for bringing this masterpiece to the masses."

"Spray is it. They are a revolution of rhythm, disco, and pop. They've given pop music back its soul. There's a reason they're still in low circulation around here and it's not their indie label. It's because they sheer mass knowledge of Spray's awesomeness would rend reality asunder. Catchy, smart, uplifting, inspiring, and full of love and life. Spray is deffinitive."
