Moments of spirit - but no feeling

"if you can find this cd for under 5 bucks then it might be worth it. This is essentially an electronic hybrid of world music that is very similiar to banco de gaia or even an orb remix- with some production by martin gore of depeche mode. In fact it has alot of violators rigid sounds- and a guest spot from ex propaganda female vocal duo freytag and brucken. With seven tracks (most extremely long) its equal or more to a normal full length. lots of dub heavy bass and hiphop styled worldbeat- but theres just too much "german" rigidness and digital sounding synths to give it a real warmth. the production is solid but some of the sounds are not only dated but take away from some of the interesting ideas. good driving music i suppose while cruising through the desert or background music at a party. But songs take too long to develop and ultimately wind up being repetive. Its not bad stuff but theres better electronic world music out there if you look. I got it new for the price of a happyhour cocktail so i wont complain too much. There are some moments to appreciate but i wouldnt pay full price ."
