CD ReviewsOne of my 2005 Faves DoughHead | Portland, OR | 04/04/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "The Speakers' "Yeats is Greats" is not only a collection of songs using W.B. Yeats' poetry (and some original lyrics), it is a mellow, rockin', funny, sad, smart and amusing album. The Speakers, featuring the Bay-Area duo Brian Miller (guitarist for Jolie Holland) and Peter Musselman, along with Dave Mihaly, Ara Anderson, Keith Cary, and other amazing musical talents, have a sound all their own. The closest I could come in comparing them to other artists might be Iron and Wine, with more feeling and smarts, but that just doesn't do them justice. All I can say is that their beautiful, spaced-out music has been wafting through my brain all year."
