Synopsis

Album Description
Sound the Alarm are products of their environment. They formed at the age of 12 in a small town east of Allentown, PA, and were raised on an older brother's record collection: Factor healthy doses of Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin with a steady diet of modern rock bands including 30 Seconds to Mars, Incubus and My Chemical Romance, and the band's infectious sound dilates into focus. Frontman Cody Jancovic, bassist Colin Ellis, guitarists Brian Chiusano, Joe Brule and drummer Rick Stephans were still in high school when they were discovered by Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson and recorded their debut album under his direction. Now in their late teens, Sound the Alarm have been touring the U.S building up awareness for their new album on Sparky Dog (Howard Bensons's label)/Geffen

CD Reviews

AMAZING!
J. Stinner | PA, USA | 08/23/2007

"With a sound reminiscent of our childhood radio, these boys rock with original melodies and a strength not often found. These guys make music you can listen to in any mood. The most played music in my collection!"

"Truth be told, this is quite a good record. Nothing new or inventive, and a few songs drag a little in the middle of the disc, but man, tracks 1 thru 4 and basically the last five tracks showcase a band in top songwriting form. I'd compare them to a harder-rocking version of Faber Drive, with the capabilities of branching out. Check out the second track "Picture Perfect." The word "perfect" sums it up nicely. "Stay Inside" reminds me of Third Eye Blind, so much so that it was kind of eerie. This is more rock than emo, and there are subtle hints of a punk influence at times but not much. Straight forward with great melodies. "Count On Me" will stick in your head for days, as will "Closer" and the single "Suffocating." If this young band manages to improve on their next album, they could take over the world."
