"Sonny Criss's Saturday Morning is an excursion into the blues side of the master alto saxophonist. The eloquent title track is a masterpiece all its own, and the entire recording has a beautiful sound and richness to it. Criss's version of Tin Tin Deo is exciting and swinging, and his ballad playing on Until the Real Thing Comes Along is soulful and vibrant. This is a marvelous recording and one that Producer Don Schlitten should be praised for. For lovers of traditional, honest jazz, this one is not to be missed!"
