"Sonny Boy II is not my favorite. I like more honk from the harp and less undercurrent of menace from the vocals, and I like Little Walter's and Paul Butterfield's ways of extending the blues melodically without losing the Chicago of it. But Sonny Boy grows on me, and this album has a lot of great stuff for a guy like me to hear who's trying to pick up journeyman skills on the harp."

"I was looking for true blues. The gritty kind. The real deal. I found it in this album. I bought this album about 5 years ago. I listened to it all the time, washing dishes, laying on the beach, driving in the car. I love to listen to it alone, preferably with headphones. I loved the feeling it gave me. I wanted a friend to appreciate it, so I loaned it out about 3 years ago.....Yep you guessed it, I never got it back. Enough was enough, Sonny Boy is an addiction I need this cd. Just ordered it again."
