Subtle, moving

"This CD has become a great favorite of mine. I especially love the pace of the music - the lack of agility and speed exercises that I find so annoying with stringed instruments(you know, those shrieking, juddering races up and down the scales used to prove the artists' mastery of the instrument). Just my opinion - I know I'm supposed to enjoy those but I do not.

This does not mean that the performance is muddy, sluggish or poorly executed - in fact Mr. Helmerson's performance is enthralling, moving and subtle, clean, mesmerizing. I highly recommend this CD."
