".......of wind ensemble literature. This CD contains some of the best music ever written for a wind band. It includes music from composers from a number of countries, mainly Canada, England and America. A great selection!! These pieces are also very difficult to play. This shows how good of an ensemble the Edmonton Wind Ensemble is and how good conductor Harry Pinchin is at leading this ensemble. They have incredible balance and depth of sound. As you listen to a piece you can hear each group of instruments (Clarinets, Flutes, Saxs etc.) very clearly. They mesh together very well and sound almost like one large instrument. You can always hear the small but very important parts that might usually be hidden by the rest of the group. As a whole they sound like they work well together and have been playing together for years (which they have). My favorite piece on this CD is probably "Irish Tune". It gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it, especially at the climax which is close to the end. The soaring French Horn line is sensational!!! One of the best parts in the whole album!! This CD is one my favorites out of my whole CD collection. It is a worthy addition to any wind music lover's library. Even people who are into Beetoven, Mozart, and other symphonic composers would enjoy it. So buy it and enjoy!!!!!"

"This CD. by the Edmonton Wind Ensemble, is a first-class collection of music that
I knew and others I had never heard before. The group sounds magnificent and
the production is excellent. Just slip it in a player and sit back and enjoy."
