Album DescriptionA unique CD combining the poetry and music of Australian legend and bush balladeer Smoky Dawson and the artwork of Australian painter Pro Hart. Contains twelve songs written and performed by Smoky Dawson and put to music by producer / arranger Lorenzo Toppano. The foundation of this project is the rich, evocative words of Smoky Dawson, an Australian icon, remarkably, in his nineties, who has the ability to tell stories that are rich with Australian heritage. Keeping the renditions organic and acoustic Toppano has woven a rich melodic sound around Smoky's prose using fiddle, accordion, guitars, (dobro and acoustic), strings, percussion and sound effects, (some of which are generated by Smoky himself) and vocal harmonies that evoke a camp fire atmosphere. The project encapsulates the works of a great Australian living legend and a natural, historical folklore - a rich reflection of Australia's cultural heritage. Origin. 2005.
