"Long a fan of these 1970s Vox recordings from St. Louis and Minnesota, it's delightful to hear these performances remastered and in SACD format which allows us to enjoy the original 4 channel surround sound. They are recorded from what seems to be mid hall providing a blended sound and capturing the fine acoustics of Powell Symphony Hall. The surround channels allow you to experience concert hall ambiance while the SACD DSD remastering's smooth response curve tames the bits of distortion at climaxes we heard on the original LPS and Vox CD masterings. Susskind has this music in his blood, coaxing beautiful nuances out of a fine orchestra. It's warm and exciting and beautifully played and recorded. Get it before it goes out of print."
