"I was pleasently surprised by this album, albeit not hearing about Slowhill before. On 'Finndisc', Slowhill manages to combine elements of groove, funk, jazz and hip-hop in a new, refreshing manner and is a relative to the likes of DJ Shadow, Nightmares On Wax, Nuspirit Helsinki and Pepe Deluxé. The sax and clarinet by Mr. Rinne spicen up the mix and result bringing an almost soundtracky feel to 'Finndisc'. The album's tone is definitely mellow, but warm and caressing. DJ Slow stays delightfully true to his old school roots and keeps the drums and beats very organic. On one track, they've used the same samples as DJ Shadow but the similarities do not end there; even though such albums (ie. 'Endtroducing') have affected the sound of 'Finndisc', it succeeds being original and fresh.I strongly recommend buying this album and giving Slowhill a good listen."
