Great concert showing off the magnificent Slim Whitman voice

"The magnificent voice of Slim Whitman can only really be appreciated in person, but this is the next best thing. Although he sings only one verse of "I'm Casting My Lasso", truly one of the best songs of all time, this 25th Anniversary concert reminds me of when I saw Slim live in person at the San Jose Civic Auditorium around 1954. The second album on this CD is an acceptable almost pop album of the type of material Slim recorded from the late 50's on. Like Elvis Presley, Slim's best recordings were his earliest recordngs."
