CD ReviewsSlapshot jack_knife | 801 SLC | 05/31/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Some dumb reviewer wrote some [stuff] about how this was revivalist hardcore. Choke has been there from the begining in bands Last Rights and Negative FX. Slapshot has always had a revolving band list and Choke has always been there so obviously the band is chokes more than an original lineup. On top of that Slapshot didn't ever go away. They might have put out a couple less then steller albums but they have always been around. Also the members of Slapshot have always included top people from the early scene including members of SSD and DYS. You cant get anymore true and oldschool than that. I also think that there newer sounds as heard on 16 valve hate and Olde Tyme Hardcore and the new best of (featuring many old songs re-recorded) is extremely strong and this band has a lot to offer. It's too bad so many people in the HC scene today are PC crybabies...it doesent get any better than this."
