CD Reviews

A very good collection, but not the best
The Encyclopedia Tromatica | Fort Worth, TX | 02/14/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This CD contains a very good selection of Slade material, culled from various of the groups releases over the years. About the only drawback, other than the high price, is that it only contains the shortened version of "Run Runaway".This is only a minor problem, however. If you want a very broad selection of Slade material from the 1980s this would be the CD to get. Particularly enjoyable are the two final "Live" recordings."
From Glam to Anthem
Shmuel | Jerusalem Israel | 11/19/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is definately anthem rock, very big sounding with rousing choruses. It works and suits the positive working class persona of the band. By the time Slade made these recordings their song writing and playing had reached a peak and though they were no longer always top of the hit parade they were making very good music with Holder's lyrics retaining their sense of humour. They have also managed to sneak in 3 of their big hits from the 70's as live recordings to make it even more worth the money although I see you are paying more than twice as much in the States as we are in Israel for this one! My favourites on this are My oh My and All Join Hands - lets all sing together now..."
