"
Metalcore is getting stagnant... so many bands, so many similar formulas. Sky Eats Airplane is definitely a refreshing take with good songs and some great drumming!"
Something a little different

"This cd is worth checking out if you like bands like norma jean or every time I die. To me, it is a mix of those 2 with alot of apple studio effects which is what makes it sound so different. The only thing that might chase people away from this cd is the emo singing from time to time. I dont like emo but for some reason it worked with this cd, not to mention they are pretty sweet live."
This cd deserves 5 stars

"I was recommended this CD from a friend and fellow musician after a discussion regarding the staleness of most metal/hardcore bands who have either formed or released new music in the last year or so. The band was described to me as a mixture of August Burns Red and "They're Only Chasing Safety"-era UnderOath so I was a little intrigued.
Not being a very big fan of either of those bands but curious to hear the mixture of that particular sound, I decided to pick this CD up and take my friend's word that I would not be disappointed. As it turns out, his description of the band was not entirely accurate but the CD WAS great, as he had promised.
Sky Eats Airplane had a little bit more of a HORSE The Band sound to them on their first record, and on this new Self-Titled LP they show that they've grown leaps and bounds in the interim between the two. The electronic presence of the band is still in full effect but is utilized in an almost pop-songwriting sense (as opposed to the kitschy "nintendo-core" way on the first record) which complements the heavier side of the band with rousing success.
The other members of the band have a technical approach to their hardcore and metal parts (which, agreeably, is very much akin to August Burns Red) and complimented with the electronics this helps to create something very unique and completely enjoyable. The vocals switch between screams and pop-crooning but the singer has a solid enough voice to carry himself through the clean vocals and manage to make it still sound good.
There's enough variety in the songs to keep things interesting throughout the album and implementing pop-songwriting structure with tech-metalcore definitely lends to there being some incredibly contrasting moments on the CD that add to the intensity and freshness of the music. A personal favorite is track 03, "Numbers".
Overall, if you're a fan of music, you should enjoy this album, it's that simple. Nothing groundbreaking or legendary, but still great."

"Sky Eats Airplane have grown from a spastic Nintendocore band to a band with a great taste for diversification. They included much more styles in this album than they did in the first EP, which turns out to be a good decision. Try it out!"
