What Would Jesus Drive? is the latest CD from Christian Blues/Rock band, Sky Blue. As the title suggests, Sky Blue has a slightly different approach to contemporay issues. Who is Sky Blue? Well, we aren't kids. Jim, Bob & Theresa are boomers who have been playing music their whole lives. We are not trying to relive our youth or bring back the past. We believe we are in one of the most creative periods of our lives, writing, recording, and performing new music every month. We are not a bar band or a garage band. We have been there and done that - 'nuf said. We are Christians and our music reflects that point of view, but we are not a praise band or worship band. Our goals are to encourage and entertain you. Praise and worship music has a different purpose. Bob and Theresa Kaat-Wohlert met Jim Mathis in 2002 and soon after the musical partnership was born that would eventually become Sky Blue. Wes Burrows joined the group as drummer in 2005.  All four are seasoned veterans from other bands and bring a wide variety of music skills and backgrounds to the table.  Bob is a classically trained musician who is a monster guitar player and master of several instruments and sings backup.  Theresa is a born showman who happens to be a great lead  and backup singer as well. She plays several instruments including bass, piano, and percussion.  Jim grew up on a combination of country, western swing, and Hawaiian music before making a career as a rock bassist. He plays pedal steel guitar and National resophonic guitar with Sky Blue. He also lends his baritone voice to five songs on this album.  Wes is a multi-talented multi-instrumentalist as well. He plays drums with Sky Blue and as the youngest member by far, brings a Gen-x perspective to the whole thing.  Together they bring about a hundred years of music to the stage.  At first the band played songs written by other people, but soon realized that they wanted to create their own music. With Jim writing most of the lyrics, and Bob and Theresa supplying the melodies, harmonies, and structure they became a potent musical team.  This CD represents the first fruits of this writing team and their first studio recording following their debut CD, Sky Blue Live at Homer s Coffee House recorded in 2006.  We hope you enjoy the music half as much as we enjoy making it.  SKY  BLUE
