CD ReviewsSpawned from the Conceptual Tree TastyBabySyndrome | "Daddy Dagon's Daycare" - Proud Sponsor of the Lit | 11/22/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "Chemlab will always be Jared Louche making sweet distorted love to a microphone in some obscenely beautiful way. Still, Chemlab has picked up an offshoot following and they sometimes feel like praising the maker. This album is a great example of that, taking tracks that existed in the early world of EBM and turning them loose in yet another form.
I personally found this remixed material hosted late night while buzzing through stations and thought - yeah! In this sense, flattery gets you everywhere and, best yet, it never one to be forgotten. Out of all the tracks available, I personally like what was done with Suture because it allows a person to revel in the lyrical mastery of the track, the first variant of C,Glue, and You because it keeps its primal agenda and still plays the way it wants to play, and 16 Volt because the new singer keeps the rails energized. Other covers are great as well: I hate to ever compare covers to the real meal deal so I do not want to go there. I simply like the fact that some of the songs have a new taste and that taste comes in obtainable pocket-sized downloadable portions. If you are not familiar with the source material, you should try it on for size because the two of you have been missing one another. If you knew Chemlab a long time ago and have not tried on their newer works, shame on your deification of some other false audio. Pick up Chemlab's newest, try on some of these tracks, and enjoy the flavour. It has been the kerosene to my wooden world for ages and I find it still loves me." |
