Synopsis
Album Description Motion is the first release in a new Six Degrees series that gathers rare remixed versions of some of our favorite tracks and presents them in one complete collection. Artists such as Bebel Gilberto, dZihan and Kamien, Banco de Gaia, Monica Ramos, DJ Cam and Euphoria are given the dance remix treatment from world class producers/remixers AtJazz, King Britt, Demon, Romanthony and more. Motion moves and grooves into the worlds of house, funky breaks, and trance yet never loses sight of the beat. This Six Degrees collection proves once again that when it comes to the world of dance music "everything is closer than you think." Similarly Requested CDs

CD ReviewsLots of Motion for everyone Glenn Wiun | Edmonton, Alberta Canada | 02/05/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "This CD had me moving from the start, and it doesn't disappoint. Another great collection from Six Degrees, a fine label from San Francisco with world electronica tastes. I own several gems from the Six Degrees stable, and this one may be the best. It begins with a cookin' version of Bebel Gilberto's near classic, Sem Contencao, moving confidently to an Atjazz remix of dZihan & Kamien's dance floor friendly opus, After. By Cut 4, the brilliant Bob Holroyd anthem, Drumming up a storm, you're in beat heaven. DJ Cam keeps things firing with the speaker standing DJ Cam Soundsystem. Also pretty cool is the Rinocerose meets Tangerine Dream like sound of dZihan & Kamien's, B Movie. Things falter a bit with the boring Banco de Gaia track, Obsidian, while the Cut # 8 snoozer, Ocean, by Monica Ramos, had me searching for the fast forward button. But an interesting Garry Hughes mix of the Euphoria standard, Delirium, made a nice exit of a great CD. A must have for fans of good music. Highly recommended for everybody else." Movement may be the wrong title... Andrew P. Alderete | Philadelphia, PA United States | 02/01/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "Dear listeners, I recently bought this album with the intention of getting songs geared towards "movement", or dance. Knowing previous Six Degrees releases, their stuff tends to be on the acid jazz/ambient side of things... but I decided it would be worth a shot. Even though a lot of these songs are good, they arent what I would dance to. Its great background music, and even has acid jazz overtones. I recommend this to ambient listeners, but also those who enjoy the diverse creativity displayed by artists that aren't as well-known as mainstream ambient/trance. Due to this, I give this album 3.5 stars. Well thought out playlist... I think its worth the money, for sure."
