"I got this CD for free back in 1995, and I immediately fell in love with it. The songs are funny, and the album just makes you feel good. Great album, very underrated."

"Cant say how great this CD is. An awsome combo of punk, swing, surf music with a touch of stones and Hot tuna. Every song is a Jem, and a pleasant and catchy surprise. I highly reccommend it!"
Best guitarist in NYC? Quite possibly.

"If Simon's not the best guitar player in NYC, he's damn close. Equal parts Charlie Christian, Nokie Edwards, and Johnny Thunders, the guy can shred. And he's a great singer and songwriter (but he's surely not a "singer-songwriter") to boot."

"For the band's "debut" CD, I was greatly disappointed. The band is much better live. Not to say the CD isn't worth buying, it is. Anyone who has a sense of humor will enjoy the lyrics of "Strike Out King", "Thinking with the Wrong Head", and "Chapter 11". The best track is probably "Surf the Wild Gowanas" -- a punchy, surf instrumental tribute to a Brooklyn highway. Additionally, Simon does do a great intro to Woodpecker Rock. He is extremely versatile. Unfortunately, this CD does not showcase the band as well as it could. If you've even seen the band live, you'll recognize this immediately. Catch them live if you can! Simon is a master showman and has great pipes. However, if you can't catch the band live, the CD is still worth buying."
