CD ReviewsUndiscovered Gem Lance Depew | Bangkok, Thailand | 05/25/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "I suspect most people are not familiar with Silvana Malta and her work. I was in the same camp until I stumbled upon this CD at a jazz festival a few years ago in my adopted home of Bangkok, Thailand. The CD features Toninho Horta, who was also one of the featured artists at the festival. I've been a big fan of Toninho and his guitar playing for years. Given my respect for his work, I decided to plop down 400 Baht (around $10) for Malta's CD. I'm glad I did. The CD is amazing on many fronts and the musicianship is first rate. Silvana has a wonderful, expressive voice. If you are a fan of Brazilian jazz, buy this CD. I also heartily recommend Malta's two other CDs: Cravo E Canela and Bossa Nuts."
