A quick shot--don't blink or you'll miss a song or two--of this Sicko disc will speed up your pulse and plaster a dopey grin across your mug. They take mundane subjects like their dorky jobs ("Computer Geek") and the fact that they are self-confessed pathetic losers ("Dateless Losers" and "On the Dole") and somehow make them appealing. This trio has a remarkable knack for crafting irresistible little pop explosions (sort of like pop rocks!) from a handful of distorted power chords, a frenetic rhythm section, a couple of verses, and a chorus. On Chef Boy R U Dumb, the band even expands its repertoire to include a few slower, Superchunk-like tunes such as "Little." --Adem Tepedelen
