"I've lived with this beautiful recording of Sibelius' string quartet for over ten years now and I recommend it to anyone looking for a recording of this piece. If you're not familiar with it, but you like Sibelius, try it out. The highlight is the central slow movement in which you hear the "intimate voices" of the title. The recording is darkly reverberant and lush--well suited to the music. The playing is robust and the Gabrieli quartet's tone is full-bodied.The piano quintet is a very early work. It's exuberant and brash good fun."

"I heard the piano quintet only once on the radio while driving and deciced I must have it.
If a Sibelius symphony could be distilled into a chamber work this would be it.
All the granite skies, scudding gulls, and peasant lore abound in this neglected masterpiece. Ditto for the Quartet"
