Shorty's CD is Short of Jeri

"If you're a Shorty Rogers fan, you'll like this one, but if you buy it because Jeri Southern is listed as the guest vocalist, you'll probably be disappointed. These are tunes from two early '60s quintet sessions for "The Navy Swings" programs, and Ms. Southern appears on only three of the 13 cuts -- "Down With Love," "Spring Will Be a Little Late This Year" and "I Hadn't Anyone Till You." It's too bad she's AWOL on some others, like "Time Was" and "What Is This Thing Called Love.""
