CD ReviewsUnique !! I like it !! Steven Fall | 09/17/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "After hearing the incredible cut, "Paranormal Zoo" on the radio, I just had to pick up the CD. I hear lots of people complaining that there is no good new music out there, and then when they hear something unique like this Scientific Curiosity, they complain that it is too unusual. Well, I'm here to tell you that this is just what intelligent music fans are looking for. Finally, a new music CD with smart lyrics, great hooks, and a thoughtful approach to arrangement. Vocally, Nicole Herbst's voice shines, and she is obviously classically-trained, and is now applying her talents to popular music. Louis Poulin's vocals are admittedly different, with a growling modern rock approach, softened by Nicole's background flavorings. I love the way Louis sounds, but I understand that people may not relate to his sound. But that's one of the things that make this CD so interesting. His voice conjures up memories of Zappa and Beefheart, sounds that current music has missed for too many years. The CD wouldn't be the same without Louis' contribution. Every song is different, and every song has something to offer. While most of the songs are original, two songs (Coming In To Los Angeles and Last Breath) are covers, and have been treated to modernized revamping, making them even better than the original recordings. I have listened to this CD many times, and it gets better every time. I have to say that I like every song on the CD. I think this band will be around for a long time, and I can't wait for their next CD! Steven Fall"
