CD ReviewsJoyfull, exstatic trance music william faircloth | Arizona | 01/14/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is the most excitng album I've heard in a long time, I always really liked Quintessence but Shiva Shakti are even better, there version of Notting Hill Gate sent shivers down my spine. High on Mt kailash is one of the most mystical psycadelic songs I've ever heard it's really other worldly. Sea of Imortality is joyfull and exstatic, there mix of krishna chants,Indian instraments rock and techno sounds so natural and unlike any thing I've ever heard. The new songs are really good to, Dark Brother sounds like a tribal rave in India and Parvati Deva is an uplifting and infectious chant thats very catchey. Lyrcly it's hard to believe some of these songs where written thirty years ago they have so much relavance now. More than anything else the thing I most liked about this album is that it's so joyfull and uplifting, it's impossible to be depressed listening to this, I highly recommend it." Music that touches your soul michaelsheva | 03/09/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) ""Shiva" Phil Jones (known back in the 70's as "mystical rock band Quintessence") does it again with "Shiva Shakti".
Very cool for today, my fav is the PARVATI DEVI track with just a taste of a young lady singing in back, making you think you are in India with the scents of incense and perfumed silk. It's a living story of life, our life; listen, learn, laugh & enjoy. Mood altering.Sounds so great. Contagious. Mellow. Enveloping. You just want to turn it up, and listen, and swim in the sea of existence.Look for his new 2004 release: "Cosmic Surfer" & Search for his other mystical treats; - SUNRISE - DIDGERIDOO DREAMINGS And the DVD "Sydney: A Story of a City (1999)" where you can learn about the Didgeridoo and Australia." |
