"I'll try and keep this short and sweet. Shel Silverstein came to my attention several years ago when Doctor Hook recorded several of his songs on the album "Bankrupt", an album that I would rate in my all time top ten. Four years ago I stumbled accross this album and it has been in and out of my CD player ever since - on a more regular basis than any other album in my collection. Shel has a gruff, deep, painful sounding voice, but he carry humour and sadness equally well. Hoever, every track on this album, fall, most definitely, into the former category. I don't have time to go into every track, but I recommend this album wholehearedly. Buy it - you won't be disappointed!"

"Seldom do you buy a CD where you really like and enjoy all the selections. For me, this album fulfilled just that. I've always been a fan of Dr. Hook and have most of their songs. Shel Silversteins's album is Dr. Hook revisited and more. My other Silverstein albums are on the way, and I only wish there were more."
It went from so good to so bad, so fast.

"This album by songwriter Shel Silverstein was recorded in 1980. It is a country album, more or less. The songs are humorous, as Silverstein's songs usually are. Shel isn't a very good singer, in the traditional sense, but he manages to get across funny songs quite well. Fans of humorous songs should enjoy this album."
