CD Reviews

Greatest Hits from Sheena Easton MCA recordings 88-95
R. Sanchez | Austin, Texas United States | 10/02/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This makes the best "Greatest Hits" package of her hits from the late 80's to 1995. The standout tracks from this compilation are the #2 Pop & #1 R&B single release "The Lover In Me" also the #1 (Prince penned) dance single "101" and Days Like This #36 R&B single from the gold album from 1988. The single "What Comes Naturally #19 on the pop chart from 1991 was Sheena's last charting single, also from the same titled album.

There are some great ballads, jazz standards, and more dance music on this disc. The only songs missing are the Prince and Sheena duets "U Got The Look" & "The Arms of Orion" from the Batman soundtrack. That being said, MCA/Universal should release a domestic version of this cd for the states with the missing tracks thus making this a perfect compilation.

If you are fan then this cd will be a great addition to your collection. If you are just introducing yourself to this great "Diva of Pop" then you will be greatly surprised that Sheena Easton sounds just as good as the Divas today. A worthy buy! 4 Stars.

"
Should be a Greatest Hits Vol 2....

"GREAT CD!!! This is the Sheena CD for those who loved "The World of Sheena Easton: The Singles" but had wished that her "later" material was on it. While "The Lover In Me" and "What Comes Naturally" are the two that were popular in America...other great songs are "No Deposit, No Return", "101", "My Cherie" and "All I Ask of You". Actually, all the songs are good.

This could be considered a greatest hits vol 2...."
