CD Reviews

Different bloke!!!
R. G. Lawford | London, Kent United Kingdom | 04/13/2006
(1 out of 5 stars)

"I'm not going to comment on this guys music. I just wanted to put the previous reviewer straight about something, and calm his musical fears :D The Shawn Smith that made this album is NOT the same Shawn Smith that has sung with Brad, Satchel or Pidgeonhed!!! He's even got different colour skin, and is a lot thinner. looks totally different believe me."
BLAND(AND THAT'S BEING KIND!)
M. Harris | BRIGHTON, EAST SUSSEX United Kingdom | 03/27/2006
(1 out of 5 stars)

"For anyone expecting a follow up to those wonderful heart felt ballads that made the two Satchel albums so essential don't bother with this because it is a different Shawn Smith! I got conned, don't you be. Yes there are ballads a plenty but the arrangements are so dull and so uninspired as to make this the sort of bland muzak that supermarkets have in the background whilst you're doing the weeks shopping. It really is that dull! I don't know who the guy is but out of morbid curiousity listened. The worse thing is you have to listen really hard to hear any live drums because every beat is programmed! It is so irritating and takes away any live feel. Why do these people use this confounded contraption? It is so cold and sterile. I think this Shawn is some sort of evagelenic singer/songwriter.I'd suggest to Shawn that Daryl Hall does this a whole lot better and at least when (or if) i buy his albums at least i know what i'm getting. This is complete dross! What a waste of money. Avoid unless blandness is your thing! Maybe there should be a warning on the cover saying NOTHING TO DO WITH BRAD OR SATCHEL!!!"
