Welcome to Mars ....is a concept album. Here's the Program: In the year 2014 Earth scientists land on Mars. Their carefully chosen landing site is close to a crater with caves. Entering the main cave opening they are shocked by what they see and hear. An ancient Martian telepathically greets and comforts them with "Fanfare." It moans "I'm so tired." Somehow they clearly feel the meaning. The Martian relates the plight of it's race. Eons ago, fossil fuels exhausted, their planetary core was tapped. Despite scientist's warnings the malady continued and effected gravity fields. The warrior class seized control, "One more chance," by storming the Queens palace. In dismay, she takes her life to the plaintiff cry of "I'll be waiting..." Planetary conditions worsen and the disgruntled warrior king wails, "You keep telling me." Secretly, the scientists construct ships and plan their escape to the third planet. As the first scout ships approach Terra (Earth) they witness a blinding flash, "Look over here." They recoil in disbelief and disgust. An asteroid? A war? Sullen, they return to "Bizarro's home planet." As the ecosystem collapses, mass extinction follows, "All I want (is to touch you)-ai." Some escape underground and wait......
