"Finally a new Art Lande album featuring him not as a sideman but a leader. There's always been something special about his writing music and playing the piano- a wonderful balance between traditional, free improvisational jazz and 20th century classical music. You'll find it here, too. It's vintage Lande, so to say.
His new ensemble is well balanced, with great bass and drum solos, too. For fans of Paul McCandless, here you can hear him for the first time on tenor saxophone, which gives the recording a kind of "Bennie Wallace"-flavor. The short improvisational pieces make me wish, I could see them in concert.
This album really deserves a big audience, as his other recordings!!"
