"While I don't usually delve into male singers that often, this Australian Idol runner-up has all the elements that I like in a performer. The songs are fresh, he sings them convincingly and there's enough melding of pop, rock, and country to keep my interest months after I first heard him (then, purchased this disc). It doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eyes either..."

"I was in New Zealand for a semester studying abroad and I didn't even know this guy was from Australian Idol. I listened to it at the CD store and I was impressed. I especially like Learn to Fly and New Beginning. I really enjoy this CD! If you like Sister Hazel-type groups you will like this album!"
Very, very cool!!

"My best friend in OZ sent this CD to me for a birthday present and I really am enjoying it very much. I like his voice and I like the music. I can't stop listening to it. This says a lot coming from me, considering I can't stand "AMERICAN IDOL!""
It's OK for a while

"A few months ago I would've given this album 4 stars but it's not an album that will last over time. I do enjoy listening to some of the songs, but after a few weeks I stopped listening to it. It is better than Guy Sebastian's album though, after listening to it a couple of times I couldn't stand it. I'll go through the tracks one at a time because no one seems to have done that yet. 1- DRIVE - One of the catchiest songs on the album. The lyrics are not that great but I do like hearing this on the radio.
2- NEW BEGINNING - This song is only just OK. His voice doesn't sound very good on it.
3- WHAT ABOUT ME - I can't tell you how sick of this song I am. When he first performed it on Australian idol was when I started supporting him, but I have heard this so many times that it's slowly driving me insane.
4- BURN - I actually do like this song. It has nice lyrics and it's sung quite well.
5- SITTIN' PRETTY - This song isn't sung well and I hardly ever listened to it. It might just be that it's a terrible song, so I blame whoever wrote it.
6- LEARN TO FLY - One of the strongest songs on the album. Good lyrics, good vocals, nice ballad.
7- PROMISES - I think I have listened to this song (at most) about 3 times. It's boring, that's all I can think to say about it.
8- TUNE IN - Not a great song, kind of interesting but you get sick of it very quickly.
9- PROVE - The backing singers in this song are the ones who sing the home and away theme. Bad idea. This song will also get on your nerves very quickly.
10- WISE - It's boring. It took forever for me to actually listen to this song, I've never really liked it.
11- THE WAY SHE LOVED ME - I don't listen to this song much. The vocals aren't very good although the lyrics are nice from what I remember.
12- THE WAY THAT I FEEL - The lyrics are terrible but the song is catchy. When you listen to it though it is hard to get over how bad the lyrics are.My advice - if you have to pay $30 for this cd, don't do it. If you can get it at a cheaper price (I got it for $20) then you may as well get it. As I said, it is enjoyable for a while.Just so you know, it I sound like I'm being too critical I don't mean I hate this album, at one stage I really liked it, but I just got sick of it."
Very disappointing.

"First of all, comparing Shannon with John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes is wrong. Shannon is a disgrace to many great Australian artists as he could only beg and complain.
As far as singing and talent, Shannon has neither. I still don't understand how he could become runner-up, a position he does not deserver. I think it's the judges' fault that he was in the competition in the first place.
"What About Me", while it is a good song, Shannon's version has been overplayed. The more you listen to it, the more you'll realise how bad he sounds. As the rest of the songs (Drive, Burn, etc), they are simply bad. They may sound good if sung by other singers, but definitely not by Shannon.
Save your money and more importantly, save your ears!"
