CD Reviews
Fresh and convincing

"While I don't usually delve into male singers that often, this Australian Idol runner-up has all the elements that I like in a performer. The songs are fresh, he sings them convincingly and there's enough melding of pop, rock, and country to keep my interest months after I first heard him (then, purchased this disc). It doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eyes either..."
Fabulous Debut!

"I have recently moved to Australia & in searching
out some fresh new Australian music was recommended
"THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT" by friends in the
music business in New York, this ia a wonderful effort
by a young man brand new to the industry, a delightful
mix of rock, ballads, pop, something for just about
everyone, well done Shannon, keep up the good work &
I'm absolutely looking forward to your new album!"
New to Australian Idol

"I am a fan of American Idol, of course. It just so happened when I was doing an on-line search that I came across Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll. I was curious so I ordered this CD and Beautiful Life by Guy. I really really like this CD a lot. More than Guy's CD actually. Shannon has that little scratch to his voice that I love! He looks hot and sounds great. Learn to Fly is just a fab song. I can't stop listening to it. His rendition of What about Me is super as well! The whole Idol series is about finding undiscovered talent. Too many of the American contestants are R&B singers. About time there was an Idol - somewhere - that does some pop. As a previous review stated - Shannon does pop/country-esque songs. Great Great Great! I will definitely buy his next CD! Shannon has a new fan in the States!"
THATS WHAT Im TALKING ABOUT

"boyoboy, this is close to being one of my favourite albums of all time.
There is not a track in it that does not make me weak at the knees.
Or just plain weep.
This is one to listen to on your own, with the lights dim and the candles soft.
There is the big beautiful ballad WHAT ABOUT ME that has just gone 4 x platinum and is one of the biggest selling singles in Australian music history. Shannon sings it with such heart, and his version is all set to become a great Aussie classic ballad.
Then follows a catchy rock number, DRIVE, written by Bryan Adams that will be the next giant single. The lyrics are upbeat and groovy and are about 'going all the way'-- a slice too subtle for the previous reviewer on here.
Then there is a selection of haunting, emotional and downright sexy ballads where Shannon sings and creates this wonderful chemistry that just sizzles your blood.
Shannon has this lovely texture to his voice that makes 'love lost' really wrenching.
BURN is incredibly sexy, as the verses and chorus blend seamlessly together sung in that hot yummy voice:
"Oh, you twist and turn me
Ignite and stir me, yeah..."
NEW BEGINNING brings out the most beautiful lyric lilts in Shannon's voice:
"If I'd known what you would say
I'd have turned and walked away."
TUNE IN is sad -- "Out of work, out of place and out of love" -- but hopeful in the end. It really is one of my favourite tracks.
LEARN TO FLY is a complete tearjerker about finding your way through the impossible roads life sometimes asks us to travel:
"When you feel the dream is over
Feel the world is on your shoulders...
Even though the walls may crumble
And you find you always stumble...
Remember never to surrender to the dark...
Learn to fly."
This is really wrenching, but beautifully melodic.
The really big tearjerker is the emotive, THE WAY SHE LOVED ME about love lost and gone forever.
"I light a candle for her every evening
Pour me a glass of wine
I will remember so clearly
The way she love me for a time."
This will make you weep into your wine, this track.
There is so much beautiful emotion in this album. It is just a pleasure to own.
And, hey, what the heck! I am going for gold and giving it 5 shining stars! Because they just don't come much better than this!
Well done, Shannon.
I just love it.
