"With a title like "eternal light" i expected something a little more upbeat but what shankar and crew deliver is a darker intense littel musical journey. The first track sounds happy enough but when the raga really begins it sounds about as sad as anyhting shankar has ever played. his voice and violin work together fluidly to convey what seems like a sense of longing. It sounds alot like "Raga Aberi" (1995)but soars beyond that in overall quality. The sound quality is superb and allows the listener to hear the nuances of all three contributers very well. The percussion solos on the final track sound as if they were played in a cathedral. In my humble opinion: a solid recording featuring beautiful playing by talented musicians."

"When John Mclaughlin reformed the legendary band Shakti as "Remember Shakti", violinist L. Shankar was not able to participate. So here, at the turn of the millennium, he gathers Shakti members Zakir & Vikku together as a Classical Indian version of Remember Shakti. The album is quite fine and is dedicated to Zakir's father, Ustad Allarakha, an incredible tabla master and Ravi Shankar's frequent collaborator."
