"If you like music, you will like this album. In a world where so much music is over-produced and over-hyped, The Shams keep simple, raw, and real. The have a sound of a 60s garage band having one heck of a good time rocking out. The explosive opening song 'Rock and Roll' tells you right in the lyrics what the band is going to do: "we're gonna rock and roll!" And they do. But they don't just rock out, they slow things up a bit with the funky R&B groove 'Me No More.' They hold there own for some blues numbers like their cover of Allen Toussaint's 'Get Out My Life Woman' and the fun Willie Dixon-sounding 'Wolfman' with some silly 'howls' thrown in for good measure. So, if you like pure garage rock, then you'll love this album. Also check out their equally impressive second album 'Please Yourself.' Hats off to the Shams."
