"This album is amazing! So rich, so joyful, so painful, so full of life... so Shakespeare. Enjoy it."
One of my favorite Soundtracks throughout the years

"Even though the release of the movie, which had me enraptured, is now six years in the past, I still enjoy listening to this soundtrack as much as ever.
After having seen the film I listened to the listening samples of the soundtrack available online over and over; the melodies really haunted me and I wanted desperately to be transported back into the escapist world of Shakespeare in Love by listening to its music. The Soundtrack, which I then bought, enabled me to do so over and over again, but over the years I find it has qualities beyond those linked to the motion picture, and it has become one of my favorite CDs to read, study and relax by.
Anyone who loved the film will enjoy remembering it by means of the music, and re-experiencing the fun, fast, multi-layered, stimulating and inspiring story again (and again and again)."
Warbeck meets Shakespeare

""Shakespeare in Love," a witty tale of love and theater in Elizabethan England, was one of the most delightful films of the late 1990s. This CD contains the film's musical score, composed by Stephen Warbeck.I think that this music works better as a backdrop to the film, rather than as a stand-alone composition; I found much of the CD to be somewhat forgettable on its own. Still, there are some genuinely memorable tracks, and the score overall is quite pleasant. The opening track (appropriately called "The Beginning of the Partnership") has a lovely, romantic sweep to it. And "The De Lesseps' Dance" is a wonderful piece that evokes an Elizabethan social gathering. If you are a fan of the film, give the CD a try."
A vibrante and amazingly emotional score!

"Shakespeare in Love, what else is their to say about the movie, but that it deserved picture and won. The score is equally great, it brings out the unspoken words in the film. This score did a wonferful job of bringing across the love of shakespeare and viola. it went form love at first sight to the final farewell. "The End" is one of the most moving pieces I have ever heard. It speaks of triumfe, sacrifice, and most of love that will never end, but only get stronger with every passing moment. Every cut helped to bring a tone and another character who speaks in silence, but helps the movie to inforce the feelings it most wants you to take away with you at the end of the film: love, and a bit with a dog as Henslowe would say! Most of all it convays romance beyond words and life."
Light-hearted and emotional

"I'd be lying if I said Shakespeare in Love was the year's BEST movie, even if it more than deserved the Oscar nod. I'd also be lying if I said this soundtrack was bad (I'd be outta my mind to say that!) After I saw the movie, the music was the only thing I could think of. I bought the CD the next day. Does that give you an idea of how amazing the score is?"
