CD ReviewsTalk about lovesick! George Dionne | Cape Cod, MA | 02/09/2005 (3 out of 5 stars) "The Good It's not hard to tell that Kevin has had his heart broken a time or two. The raspy verses lead into emotionally charged choruses on "Twisted Again". It just tears him up inside that he can't be with the one he loves. "Run to Me" is showered with an array of acoustic guitars and melodic vocals. The opening lick on "My Ocean" is just as strong and memorable as the lyrics. It may seem like a tender love ballad, but it's really how she brings him down when things are bad already. A deceitful woman is at the root of "Masquerade". Kevin's vocals are just as dark and deceitful as his woman. De Rosso's guitar work is notable here, because he mixes it up from single note arpeggios, to power cords, to chunky riffing. Although Kevin's hinted at it throughout the album, he comes right out and says it on "I Won't Look Back". He exclaims that he's finished with her and he's moving on. "Speak" is a touching ballad that's almost done all a cappella, with some soft strings and a power chorus thrown in for good measure. The Bad Talk about lovesick! The Verdict Who knew that two people and a computer can produce such a good album? It's tend to get a little trite that all the songs are about a love that is lost. However, Chalfant keeps your interest with his powerful and emotional vocals, and De Rosso sets it all to touching music. " Good Melodic Rock Curt Falkenstein | Ft. Myers, FL United States | 03/06/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "Shadows Fade is a very good melodic rock disc with the unmistakable sound of Alex De Rosso on several tracks. In particular "My Ocean" has the signature sound of Alex's work. Though most of the CD is slower than my normal taste being a fan of Alex and his sound more than makes up for the slower tempo. It is truly amazing what two men and technology are able to do. If you are a fan of early eighties music such as Asia give this disc a listen you might be surprised." Kevin Chalfant does it again! D. Logan | Ohio | 10/12/2006 (3 out of 5 stars) "For those fans of Kevin Chalfant's work in The Storm and Two Fires, you will not be disappointed in this disc. Melodic rock at its best. The first 10 tracks are all great tunes. The only weakness on the album is the last track, a little too Air Supply-like. I like this release better than the 2006 album that Chalfant made since joining the band Shooting Star. Pick this one up before it disappears."
