"Just a WARNING for potential buyers: there is an ERROR printed on the front sleeve of this disc, and the disc is therefore also listed in ERROR by Amazon. The cover states that the third work is the "Quintette a clavier, op. 7." Only those very familiar with D'Indy will immediately notice that the this disc presents NOT the beautiful piano quintet (actually op. 81 in G minor) but the equally beautiful PIANO QUARTET (correctly described as op. 7 in A minor). I bought a used copy of this recording looking for the quintet and was a bit disappointed to find that this work is not at all on this disc!
Nevertheless, my disappointment quickly turned to joy, because the quartet is a fantastic work, as are the other two chamber works on this now rare KOCH release. This disc presents three beautiful, unjustly neglected chamber works in beautiful rendition. Very much in the style of Cesar Franck. If you love his chamber music (e.g., piano quintet, string quartet and violin sontata) as I do, you will appreciate D'Indy's masterpieces as well. D'Indy was, in fact, Franck's best student.
VERY highly recommended despite the booklet printing errors (I also noticed that some booklet pages are out of order)."
