"Like Mercyful Fate, Type O Negative, and Fear Factory; Roadrunner Records is now milking (even more so) everything they can from the bands that made the label what it is today, even though none of those bands are still with the label. Sepultura will no doubt go down as one of the best metal bands of all time, regardless of losing original vocalsit and founder Max Cavalera (who would go on to create Soulfly), so naturally, this compilation hardly covers the "best" of the Brazilian metal gods. Some obvious choices are here, like "Troops of Doom", "Inner Self", "Arise", "Beneath the Remains", "Slave New World", "Dead Embryonic Cells", "Biotech is Godzilla", and "Roots, Bloody Roots"; but that's hardly the best Sepultura ever came up with. Where's the old, classic material like "Antichrist" and "Necromancer"? Not to mention that Sepultura released "Against" and "Nation" after Cavalera departed with new singer Derrick Green, though neither album gets covered here at all. As much as many fans dislike Green, you have to admit that a true best of compilation should have room for material from the Green era. All in all, this "best of" featuring Sepultura's name on it may be worth a look for ultra casual fans or new listeners to the band, but should otherwise be avoided by everyone else who already owns every album by the Brazilian metal masters."
What? Best of?

"From quick look at the tracklist - one cd of songs isn't really enough to show what Sepultura is really about.
Yes, the cd is full of Sepultura's commercially aired *hits*, but the real Sepultura isn't just limited to those.
It misses some other important Sepultura trademark classics like Mass Hypnosis, Necromancer, Inquisition Symphony, To The Wall, Slaves Of Pain, Escape To The Void, Beneath The Remains, Lobotomy, Primitive Future, Altered State, Warrios Of Death, From The Past Comes The Storms, Kaiowas ect. A double cd wouldn't have been that bad by Roadrunner Records Company (tm).
Instead of buying this I recommend that you'd buy the actual albums by Sepultura."
Another Cash Scam

"Let me just inform you on this: if it's a best-of collection released by Roadrunner records, don't waste your money buying a few mere tracks. That's not a proper retrospective to a band's career.
Here's the problem, Roadrunner just handpicked 12 of the band's most known songs. That's one off "Schizophrenia" (the re-recorded version of "Troops of Doom", two off "Beneath The Remains", three off "Arise", four off "Chaos A.D." and the last two off "Roots". There's no songs off "Morbid Visions/Bestial Devastation" album and EP bundle Roadrunner re-released globally. And as much as I really am not into Derrick Green's material, you could have thrown in a few songs off "Against" and "Nation".
Don't buy this. Just purchase their albums to get a good retrospective of them first. If you enjoy a groovier side of music, check out "Chaos A.D." and "Roots". If you're more into thrash, check out "Arise" and "Beneath The Remains" first. Believe me, just using the extra cash to purchase their albums will give you a better retrospective of their career than buying a cheap "best of" collection."
Roadrunner Wants Money!

"Roadrunner decided to once again cash in on the fans of the classic lineup of Sepultura. Instead of releasing a second B-Sides disc; they give us a sorry excuse for a "best of" without the lure of any unreleased tracks or anything. There is absolutely no reason to buy this pathetic "Best Of" at all. Even if you are new to the band, just go buy their albums. All of the ones with Max are good and you will be hooked. (Yes, even Roots. That's right, I said it!) There are only 12 songs (not enough to fill up the whole CD, resulting in 49 minutes) and the selection could have been better. What we have are amazing songs, but the choices come to no surprise as they mostly singles from the albums and are in chronological order. It appears to be rushed and the songs look to be picked by the label instead of by a fan. This is a poor way to represent the band and the albums. There is not a single song from Morbid Visions or Bestial Devastation and there is only their second version of Troops of Doom from Schizophrenia. The Max Cavalera years of Sepultura are the best years, granted, but there are actually a few songs from the Derrick Green albums that could have made it, or more songs from the Max era instead! They certainly had the room for it! It pisses me off how much money Roadrunner Records tries to milk from the music of Sepultura by releasing the same stuff over and over and over again and again. I can't bring myself to give this disaster one star because the music is still good. However, avoid at all costs and just listen to their albums instead."
Just a Sample

"Either the record company wants people to truly embrace metal music, or just wants some money. A whole slew of these compilations came out, with bands like Type O Negative.
As with any compilation, the tracks are all great.
But is it enough to buy the whole album? For those just getting into the band, maybe, but for fans...there is not a true redeeming factor.
Only a few compilations have truly given the best of whatever band it is honoring...this not being one of them.
Recommended for those looking for a nice sample of a band's hits."
