"The more i listen to her absolutely fun and beautiful music and passionate yet lulling voice, the more i am reminded that mexico has undergone one of the greatest, if not the greatest loss in the world. One cannot help but remember the ever-precious, ever-sparkling voice of Selena along with her gorgeous and infectious cumbias, such as La Tracalera, Despues De Enero, and Ya Ves, and then think of how such a princess was taken from her throne too young. obviously those 3 were among my favorites from this disc along with the ever-famous ballad which i will mention at the end of this review. i also loved her pop numbers, No Quiero Saber and Enamorada De Ti. Selena just puts the word electricity back into pop. and if it was never there before, then she invented it. selena is so amazing that she can take a style such as tejano and turn it into a fun and loveable, universal style for listeners of all different ethnicities. of course, i am talking about Ven Conmigo. with this style of music, i can safely say she has now made me love everything! you are taken through an upbeat paradise of happiness, heaven, rhythm and soul, and then an emotional ballad comes on, and tears at your heart strings to know that the magic voice behind it has faded with the sunset.. with this, i am talking about Aunque No Salga El Sol. Yes Selena, even if the sun doesn't rise again because you are gone, we will always love you."

"I bought this CD for a few reasons: (1) I heard "Yo Te Amo" on Live and it became one of my favorite songs by Selena (2) I run what is arguably the #1 Selena site on the internet, and I needed the CD because of that. Ok, so I love Selena. This CD is great for being one of her early CDs with EMI-Latin. It showcases Selena's beautiful voice on originals such as "Enamorada de Ti," "No Quiero Saber," "Aunque No Salga El Sol," etc. I like almost all the songs on the - it is great. If you're a Selena fan, get this CD (either that, or you probably have had it for years, I just got it yesterday). Selena once again proves that she can perform Tejano just as well as what could be classified as old-fashioned pop/rock (No Quiero Saber, Enamorada de Ti, Aunque No Salga El Sol). Like my banner says, SELENA ROCKS."

"The album title says it all ("Ven Conmigo"--"Come With Me"). After hearing some of Selena y Los Dinos's best work you'll want more :-) A must for Tejano fans."

"This is the Selena album I listen to most often. Selena y los Dinos' Tejano/tex-mex roots have a larger presence on Ven Commigo than in later albums such as Entre A Mi Mundo and Amor Prohibido (although I love these as well). There's a wider range of styles--rancheras, conjuntos, even a bit of pop--all of which Selena handles well. One of Selena's first regional hits, the catchy "Baile esta cumbia" is on the album, but I also like the more Tejano-driven songs like "Yo te amo" and "Ya ves." The title track "Ven Conmigo" has a more traditional Tex-mex sound as well, but it's also reminiscent of Louisiana-style zydeco music (which shares with tejano extensive use of the accordion).
My understanding of Spanish is adequate (it could use some improvement though), but you don't need to know it to enjoy the music, or Selena's lovely voice. Most of her English-language songs don't have the bounce, hooks and liveliness of her Spanish work, so if your knowledge of Selena is limited to "I Could Fall In Love" or "Dreaming of You," you're not getting the whole Selena experience. Ven Commigo would be a good place to start."
